Meninos Tristes (English: Blue Boys) is a 40-minute gay short film based on real events by Daniel Castilhos. It tells the story of Andres, a teenager who’s searching for his place in the world while fighting a battle with his religious family and his schoolmates. He found a shelter in Diego, but this love may not be what his mother wants for his life.

The films main roles are played by Vinicius Machado (as André), Arthur Paz (as Diego), Suely Pinheiro (as Olga), Cheri Vivan (as Mariana), Ana Victória Camargo (as Manuela), Renata Selmo (as Precilla), Luiz Kummer (as Marco) and Christian Silveira (as Eduardo). The cast also includes Maurício Ferreira (as Pastor João), Renata Bregagnol (as Vicki), Diego Freitas (as coach) among others.

Meninos Tristes’ soundtrack includes an exclusive original song named “Blue Boy’ by the music act Straylands. You’re able to listen to the song on Spotify and Apple Music.
